FAQs

Can mindfulness really help me with dating and relationships?

Yes, absolutely. Mindfulness improves self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, confidence, which are all key to creating, maintaining and improving relationships.

Some examples: It can help you stay calm and present on dates, communicate clearly, listen actively, feel secure, avoid people-pleasing and overthinking, and spot red flags and green flags faster.

What if I've tried it but it didn't work?

Many people try an app or a YouTube video and feel bored, distracted, frustrated and conclude that mindfulness isn't for them. However, everyone has different cognitive functions and preferences. Some exercises may work well for some but not others. And there are so many different exercises that I believe there are suitable ones for you.

That’s why in the Beginner program, I will guide you through a range of exercises so you can find ones that works best for you. In your free call, I can guide you through some exercises.

What if I already go to therapy?

Therapy is designed to treat specific mental health concerns. Mindfulness is a mental skill we use to enhance our general well-being and enjoyment in life.

Hence, mindfulness and therapy are highly complementary. In fact, mindfulness is integrated into many therapy methods (MCBT, DBT, ACT, MBSR). So mindfulness can help you get more out of your therapy, or even help you get ready for therapy.

How quickly will I see results?

Some benefits (e.g. feeling calm, present) can show up immediately. But deeper changes (e.g. self-esteem, anxiety) can take consistent practice over time, similar to going to the gym for your mental gains.

Do I really need a teacher?

No, you can learn on your own. I actually started with an app and practised solo for years. But it would take me a great deal of time, effort, patience and commitment to figure things out on my own.

So a teacher can help you get started, create a consistent routine, refine your technique & mindset, solve problems, keep you motivated and overall, accelerate your progress and save you a lot of time and effort in the long run.

Plus, my training programs will teach you important life skills, which most mindfulness courses and apps will not.

What is the difference between mindfulness and meditation?

Generally, mindfulness is considered one type of meditation. Examples of other others are Metta, Mantra, Yoga, Vipassana... each using their own unique angle.

Personally, I consider an exercise to be a mindfulness exercise if it can help build awareness and focus, regardless of how people categorise or name it.

That's why in all 3 of my programs, you will be guided through a variety of types, not just what's typically considered mindfulness.
