My Mindfulness

"We carry inside us the wonders we seek outside us", Yumi, Persian poet

Why Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being aware of our current sensations, thinking & feelings, without judgement. But how exactly does 'being aware' help us?

Try this 5-min mindfulness exercise and find out for yourself. When you're doing it, it's normal to be distracted at anytime. Simply refocus and continue:

  1. Rate how you're feeling right now from 1-10 (10 being amazing).

  2. Sit up comfortably in a chair or on the floor. Close your eyes.

  3. Take 3 slow breaths, in your nose and out your mouth. In exhaling, relax your shoulders and jaw.

  4. Step back in your mind and watch your current thoughts. Don't engage them- just watch.

  5. Label each thought with the first thing that comes to your mind e.g. 'work', 'food', 'sad', 'confused'. Do this for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Open your eyes, stretch the body, and reflect on how you're feeling.

Why Me?

To help you decide if I'm the right mindfulness teacher for you, here's my approach to teaching:

1) Life skills, not just mindfulness

As mentioned, more awareness brings more control and better life choices.

What's not often discussed is that this process facilitates the development of key emotional intelligence skills such as processing emotions, reframing thoughts, connecting with people. These are vital life skills that give you even more control in your inner world, and can transform your life.

Yet I've never seen these skills taught explicitly anywhere, including even mindfulness courses. That's why these skills are a core part of my programs.

2) Science-based & Secular

My mindfulness meditation exercises and techniques are supported by neuroscience and psychology. Exercises and techniques are also delivered secularly (non-religious).

During training, I explain the science of neuroplasticity, happiness chemicals, stress, emotions, negative bias etc, as more knowledge of how our brains work can help you practise more consistently and get better results.

3) Growth-focussed

I want to help you learn more about yourself, grow, achieve your goals and live with more clarity and purpose.

But while some benefits of practising mindfulness are immediate, others will require your effort, time, patience & commitment. But I will do my best to help you solve problems, stay motivated and maintain a curious and self-compassionate mindset.

My Qualifications

1) Experience

I'm a registered meditation teacher of Meditation Association of Australia, having qualified in 2025.

I have been practising mindfulness since 2013. For the first decade, I did basic exercises, which gave me a strong foundation of awareness.

Since 2023, I've been practising more frequently and intensely, which have rapidly and profoundly transformed my life, and continues to do so.

2) Background

Prior to teaching mindfulness, I worked full-time as an economist for 5 years, so I understand the struggles of young adults trying to balance career, dating, relationships, money and leisure.

During university, I tutored maths and economics, which taught me valuable teaching and communication skills.

I'm passionate about personal growth, travelling, people, nature and football!

'Being aware' helps us detach from our thoughts & emotions, making us calm & grounded. We realise that we are not our thoughts or emotions. With consistent practice over time, research shows that this detached awareness and calmness can be hard-wired into our brains through neuroplasticity.

This in turn allows us to gain more control over the unhelpful thoughts and emotions that often prevent us from making the better choices in life, whether we're facing issues in dating, career, relationships, or growth...

And the best part? Mindfulness is a learnable skill. Anyone can develop it with the right guidance and exercises (and there are so many exercises that I believe I can help you find the ones that work best for you and your type of cognitive function).
